We're looking for someone who can help us increase our impact by getting more students excited about learning data science using Dataquest. You'll understand the landscape of data science education, and target potential students through ad channels like Facebook and Google Ads. There are millions of students learning data science at any given time, and we're only reaching a small fraction of them at the moment.

In order to increase the number of students who use Dataquest, you'll need to develop student personas, and target each persona with personalized messaging. Many students feel like they can't learn data science, or don't understand how to get started, and personalized messaging can help them reach their goals. We have a huge library of content across our site and our blog that can be used as part of this messaging.

This personalized messaging will help us both increase the number of students signing up to Dataquest, and the number of those students that eventually convert to subscribers. We're looking for someone who's data-driven, passionate about education, and able to understand the motivations of our students.

Dataquest is growing quickly, and this is a chance to join a small team working on a large, socially impactful, problem. You'll have an opportunity to create and iterate on a high impact marketing program.

Responsibilities

  • Devise KPIs and goals for our advertising
  • Continuously improve the performance of our ad campaigns
  • Craft student marketing personas based on data and market understanding
  • Target ads to specific student personas, and craft compelling ad copy
  • Analyze and consider trends in our advertising and social media data to help grow Dataquest
  • Collect performance feedback from various advertising and marketing platforms as well as from students directly
  • Become well acquainted with our competitive landscape and our students
  • Become well acquainted with what we teach and how we teach it
  • Give feedback to the product team to improve conversion funnels
  • Give feedback to the content team to produce higher-converting content

Requirements

  • Experience working with ad platforms, including Facebook and Google Ads
  • Ability to keep current on trends impacting the digital marketing landscape
  • Experience with analytics tools such as Google Analytics.
  • Experience with survey tools, such as SurveyMonkey.
  • BSc/BA in similar or related field such as English, Communications, Psychology; proven prior experience as a Advertising or Marketing Specialist, or similar position.
  • Experience working with data to drive marketing decisions
  • Proven experience with writing clear and direct marketing copy
  • Experience focusing on revenue and performance metrics
